STANFORD, Calif. - On the heels of freshman Sihwan Kim's Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Ping First Team All-American selection, senior Rob Grube was named a Ping Third Team All-American, as announced by the GCAA today in Norman, Okla.

His selection as a Third Team All-American adds another honor to his decorated career at Stanford, which he recently completed at the NCAA Championships in May. This is the second time he has been bestowed Third Team honors, and the fourth year he has received All-American honors. In his freshman season he was an honorable mention, and in his junior year he was named to the Second Team.

In his senior season this year, he was awarded his fourth consecutive first-team All-Pac-10 award at the Pac-10 Championships and was also named the Pac-10 Men's Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year. The Pac-10 First Team All-Academic honoree posted five top-10 and five top-25 finishes in his final campaign with the Cardinal, and his best places came at the Pac-10 Championships (T3) and also at the UH-Hilo Invitational, where he tied for second and shot his round and tournament lows of 65 and 199. Grube averaged 72.2 strokes per round, and notched three even-par and 13 under-par rounds. He was a finalist for the Cleveland Golf Byron Nelson Award and the Ben Hogan Award.

Third Team selections also included Jonas Enander Hedin of Charlotte, Georgia's Harris English, Derek Fathauer of Louisville, UCLA's Erik Flores, Aaron Goldberg of San Diego State, Charlie Holland of Texas, Augusta State's Henrik Norlander, Kevin O'Connell of North Carolina and Virginia Tech's Jurrian van der Vaart.
