Bruins Set To Compete At USATF Junior National Championships This Weekend

Three members of the men's track and field team and two incoming frosh women will head to Columbus, OH this weekend to compete at the USATF Junior National Championships with spots on the World Junior team on the line. The top four finishers in each event are eligible for the World team and, if chosen, will compete at the World Junior Championships in Poland in mid-July.
Competing for the men's team are freshmen steeplechasers Dylan and Spencer Knight and high jumper Taylor Hobson. All three men will compete on Sunday in event finals. Dylan Knight heads into the meet with the top steeplechase time in the country (8:51.25), while his twin brother Spencer ranks fifth (8:59.84). Hobson is tied for 7th with a top high jump mark of 6-11.
On the women's side, Ryann Krais and Camilla Dencer will be in action as Krais competes in the heptathlon and Dencer runs the 800m. Krais is one of the top multi-event athletes in the country and will also be competing at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the 400m hurdles after the Junior meet. Dencer is the fourth-best junior athlete in the 800m with a top time of 2:07.54. Krais' competition begins on Saturday and ends on Sunday, while Dencer will run in the first round on Friday and final on Saturday (if she advances).
