Francis Captures Low Amateur Honors at John Deere Classic

UCLA freshman Philip Francis earned low amateur honors at the John Deere Classic over the weekend at TPC Deere Run in Silvas, IL.

Francis posted a final round score of 75 (+4) for a 72-hole total of 277 (-7). He finished nine shots behind the winner in a tie for 34th place. Kenny Perry won a three-player playoff to win the event.

Francis beat former Bruins Parker McLachlin and Scott McCarron, who play on the PGA Tour. McLachlin tied for 62nd at 281 (-3) and McCarron tied for 72nd at 285 (+1).
