The Huskies, under seventh-year head coach Lorenzo Romar, will play a total of 13 non-conference games prior to their Pacific-10 Conference opener at in-state rival Washington State on January 3.
'I really like the balance of our schedule and I think it prepares us well for the Pac-10 season,' said Romar. 'We have a solid blend of non-conference opponents and we are playing in two very strong events in the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic and the Big 12 / Pac-10 Hardwood Series. Those two events give us a chance to really test ourselves against some quality opponents. Overall, I like the way our schedule is constructed and I think it gives us a chance to mature our team as the season progresses.'
Included among the non-league contests are appearances in the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic and the Big 12 / Pac-10 Hardwood Series. The UW will host two games of the CBE Classic on Nov. 17 and 19 then will play two games in the Spirit Center in Kansas City, Mo. on Nov. 24 and 26. The field and matchups for the event have not been announced by tournament organizers.
Oklahoma State will visit Bank of America Arena on Dec. 4 in a return trip of a home-and-away series that is part of a two-year Big 12 Conference versus the Pac-10 challenge event.
Washington opens the season Nov. 15 at Portland after facing Western Washington in an exhibition game on Nov. 6. The Huskies will also face Pacific (Nov. 29), Texas Southern (Dec. 7), Portland State (Dec. 14), Eastern Washington (Dec. 20), Lehigh (Dec. 23), Montana (Dec. 28) and Morgan State (Dec. 30) prior to conference play.
The Pac-10 schedule begins Saturday, Jan. 3 at Washington State and concludes with the same two teams squaring-off on Saturday, March 7 in Bank of America Arena.
The annual Pacific Life Pacific-10 Tournament will take place March 11-14 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The bottom four seeds in the conference standings will open the tournament with first round games on March 11. The quarterfinals are set for March 12, while the semifinals will be played on March 13 and the championship game will be featured at 3 p.m. on March 14.
Start times for every game will be predicated by television schedules set by Pac-10 and UW television partners, including FSN Northwest.
