Cal Women's Basketball Honored with Community Service Award

BERKELEY, Calif. - The California women's basketball team was honored with the Cheer For LifeFoundation's Community Service Achievement Award July 11 in San Francisco.The Golden Bears partnered with Cheer San Francisco last season to helpraise $5000 for Foster A Dream.

Foster a Dream provides programs and resources that build the hopes, dreamsand futures of Bay Area foster children. Foster a Dream is also a guidingsource for a successful transition into the adult world.

Cheer SF, a non-profit cheerleading group that performs and raises money forvarious charities, has been thrilling Haas Pavilion crowds for several yearson Saturday afternoons at Cal women's basketball games. Cal fans havegenerously donated money at games to support Cheer SF's charitableendeavors.
