Stanford Volleyball Announces 2008 TV Schedule

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford will be featured in four of the 11 live telecasts of Pac-10 women's volleyball matches this year announced the Pac-10 today. The matches will be carried live by Pac-10 television partner FOX Sports Net. With the four FSN matches included, the Cardinal is now scheduled to be featured on live television six times this season.
The FSN broadcasts affect six matches on the Stanford schedule. Three matches - Stanford at Washington, California at Stanford and Stanford at UCLA - have been moved to Sunday afternoons, with start times of 12:30. The Cardinal will now meet Washington on Oct. 5 in Seattle, Cal on Oct. 19 on The Farm and UCLA on Oct. 26 in Los Angeles. Stanford's fourth televised match, a meeting with USC in Los Angeles, has been changed to an 8 p.m. start, but will still occur on Oct. 24.
Due to other televised Pac-10 action, Stanford will now meet USC at home on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. and UCLA the following night (Nov. 22), also at 7 p.m.
The Pac-10 is coming off a stellar 2007 campaign in which three teams reached the Final Four and a record seven players earned First Team AVCA All-America honors, including Stanford's Foluke Akinradewo - the reigning AVCA National Player of the Year.
The 2008 season starts Friday, August 29 with all 10 teams in action. Stanford's first two matches, both at the AVCA Showcase in Omaha, Neb., will both be televised live by CBS College Sports Network.
