THIS WEEK: Washington State travels to Knoxville, Tenn., to participate in the First Tennessee Lady Vol Classic...Cougars play Illinois, Friday, Sept. 5 at 2:30 p.m. Pacific and West Virginia, Sunday, Sept. 7 at 8:30 a.m. Pacific.
COUGARS IN KNOXVILLE: Washington State is making its second trip in school history to Knoxville, Tenn...Cougars knocked off 11th-ranked Tennessee 3-2 in overtime, Sept. 2, 2005...Carmen Anderson converted on a penalty kick in the 84th minute and Jennie Kunc forced the extra session with a tally in the 86th minute...Megan Hyte scored the game-winner to enable WSU to equal its highest-ranked opponent defeated on the road.
ABOUT ILLINOIS: Illinois is 3-0-0 with wins at Missouri (2-1), and at home against Iowa State (3-1) and Dayton (1-0)...ranked in all four polls including Soccer Buzz (11th), Soccer America (13th), NSCAA (15th), and Soccer Times (preseason 22nd)...Chichi Nweke leads the Illini with two goals, two assists, and six points.
