Oregon State Forward Robby Christner Named Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- OREGON STATE senior forward Robby Christner has been named the Pac-10 men's soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 2 - 8, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Christner posted a hat trick in the Beavers' 5-0 rout of Howard University on Friday. The Springfield, Ore., native scored all three goals in the second half for Oregon State, including two within eight seconds of each other. This mark broke the NCAA record for shortest time between goals by one second, set in 1987. The win was also the first for Oregon State on the season.

Against Gonzaga, Christner led the Beavers in shots, firing off three in an eventual 0-0 draw.

This is Christner's first weekly honor and the 13th overall for Oregon State.
