Wildcats win road opener

Using a balanced attack, the Arizona volleyball team beat Chicago State 3-0 in its first match of the CSU Bakersfield Invitational.

Arizona (6-1) used 14 different players in its most lopsided win of the season, taking the match in three set 25-5, 25-12, 25-16.

Led by sophomore Stephanie Snow with nine kills, Arizona had a .421 hitting percentage while recording 40 kills. Arizona got to show off its bench in its sixth win of the season.

Sophomore Daniell Holloway, redshirt freshman Kaylen Bannister and freshman Courtney Karst, Dana Hutchinson and Kari Bardis all saw significant playing time for the Wildcats.

Arizona is now 18-0 in its six season wins and face Fresno and CSU-Bakersfield tomorrow. The Wildcats play the Bulldogs at noon and take on the Roadrunners to close out the tournament at 7:00 p.m.
