Cal Men Fourth, Women Fifth at Sacramento State Jamboree

SACRAMENTO - The California men's cross country team came in fourth while the women took fifth at the Sacramento State Jamboree Saturday at Granite Regional Park in Sacramento, Calif. The Cal men finished with 83 points and the Cal women finished with 97 points.

Senior Eric Lee paced the Cal men by placing sixth (20:15). Fellow senior Sean Carey also grabbed a top-10 placing, touring the course in 20:32 and finishing in 10th.

Scott Grose from Sacramento State claimed the men's individual crown, crossing the finish line at 19:53.

In the women's competition, the Golden Bears placed two runners in the top 15. Senior Rebecca Palm placed eighth (17:59), while freshman Taylor Dutch took 15th (18:23). USF's Michelle Born claimed the women's individual crown, clocking in at 17:27.

The Bears return to action on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Stanford Invitational. Some of Cal's top runners from last year will make their season debuts in that meet.
