Cougars Dominate Inland Invitational

PULLMAN, WASH.- The Washington State women's golf team grabbed their first win of the season at the Inland Northwest Dodge Dealers Invitational at the par-71 Palouse Ridge Country Club. Four Cougars finished in the top 10 and the team's final round of 291(+7) is the eighth-best round in WSU history.

Senior Jessica Black led the way for the Cougars finishing in second place. She shot a 69 (-2) in the final round, putting her at 216 (+2) for the tournament. The tournament marked her 14th career top 25, placing her ninth on the all-time list. This was her sixth top ten as well, putting her in a tie for eighth all-time.

'My putting was better, mentally I was thinking about making a better stroke,' said Black about her third-round performance.

Senior Amy Eneroth finished in third place with a three-round total of 218 (+4). This was Eneroth's 29th career top-25 finish, putting her in sole possession of second place on WSU's all-time list. She also recorded her 18th career top 10 finish.

Three freshmen finished with strong performances, rounding out the first team. Kristen Allard placed fourth in her first collegiate tournament, shooting a 221 (+8). Lauren Howell notched her first top 10 finish by placing in a tie for seventh in her second career tournament. Howell finishing with a 227 (+14). Andrea Rosete carded a 234 (+21), finishing in a tie for 24th, her first career top 25 finish.

Two competitors from the Cougars' second team also finished in the top 25. Sophomore Allison Travis placed tied for 11th shooting a three-round total of 228 (+15), Travis shot a 70 (-1) in the final round, the lowest of her career. Junior Mandy Parsons tied for 20th tallying a 232 (+19).

'The women played great today in the final pairing. We shot our best tournament score of the week,' said Head Coach Walt Williams. 'We actually had some wind in the morning and it was probably the toughest conditions, but we played great.'
