PULLMAN, Wash. - Carly Dobratz and Mallory Fox each scored a goal to provide Washington State a 2-0 victory over Seattle in nonconference women's soccer, Wednesday.

Dobratz tallied her first goal of the season at 20:21 when she headed a ball past Seattle (3-2-2) goalkeeper Madison Goverde after Maggie Dougher sent a cross into the box on a free kick.

The Cougars (3-2-3) added some insurance at 70:47 on Mallory Fox's second goal in 2008. Fox took a pass from Kiersten Dallstream, settled the ball in the box on the right edge and beat Goverde inside the near post. WSU dominated the second half outshooting the Redhawks 7-1.

'We haven't been at home this season and it was a solid result,' WSU Head Coach Matt Potter said. 'The most encouraging thing is we had a clean sheet today.'

Seattle's best scoring chance came in the eighth minute when Jamie Coe's header hit the crossbar. Dobratz nearly notched her second goal of the match in the 32nd minute , but her header hit the crossbar and Elysse Van Leer's shot on the rebound was cleared off the line by a Redhawks' defender.

With the victory, Washington State improved to 7-0-0 all-time against Seattle and 7-0-0 in regular season Wednesday matches. The Cougars also earned at least one point for the 25th-straight match when leading at halftime.
