Cross Country Heading To Honolulu For Big Wave Invitational

Eric Peterson and the mens' and women's cross country teams will head across the Pacific Ocean to Honolulu, HI for the Big Wave Invitational this Saturday. This will be the final tune-up meet before the counting portion of the season.
In addition to UCLA, other competing teams include Hawai'i, BYU-Hawai`i, Chaminade, George Fox, Hawai`i Pacific, Pepperdine, San Diego State, and UH-Hilo.
The race will be held at Kane`ohe Klipper Golf Course on Marine Corps Base Hawai`i. The 4K women's race begins at 7:50 a.m. while the 5K men's race begins at 7:20 a.m. All race times are Hawai'i standard time.
Both squads are coming off of strong performances in the first meet of the year at the UC Irvine Invite two weeks ago. The men captured the team title, while the women were second. This weekend's meet also marks the 2008 debut for tthree senior runners - Laef Barnes, Mike Haddan and Drew Shackleton.
Also heading to the Big Wave Invite are Lauren Jirges, Taryn Pastoor, Cobbie Jones, Katja Goldring, Shannon Murakami, Krishna Curry, Kelcie Wiemann, Sadee Martinez, Kevin Sullivan, Alex Crabill, Marco Anzures, Kent Morikawa, Marlon Patterson and Jun Reichl.
