Oregon State's Rachel Rourke Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- OREGON STATE outside hitter Rachel Rourke has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 15 - 21, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Rourke posted 20-plus kills in three matches, including a season-high 26 in the team's win over No. 13 Wisconsin. Overall, the junior put up 67 kills (5.15 kps) for a .358 hitting percentage and 75.0 points at the Marquette Cheese Bowl, leading the Beavers to wins over Marquette, Wisconsin and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Defensively, the Queensland, Australia native had eight blocks, including two solo and two block assists against the Badgers. She also totaled nine digs and three service aces as she earned tournament MVP honors. Oregon State is 11-2, its best start since 1996.

This is Rourke's first weekly honor and the 11th overall for Oregon State.
