PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University will travel to Boise State this weekend for the Jack Taylor Invitational October 3-5...WSU will compete against the University of Utah, University of New Mexico and Boise State University...doubles play will be held Friday Oct. 3rd and singles play will take place on Saturday Oct. 4th and Sunday the 5th.

Cougar Classic- The Cougars held the annual Cougar Classic September 19-21 at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts...Ekaterina Kamendova captured the No. 1 singles title defeating Boise State's Bianca Jochimsen, 7-5, 6-4...freshman Elisabeth Fournier earned the No. 2 singles championship with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Boise State's Rocio Frej...Marina Nicolas battled against teammate Jessica Gomez for the No. 3 singles title...Nicolas was victorious over Gomez, 7-5, 6-4.

Starting Hot- Numerous Cougars have started off the season on a good note...Kamendova, Fournier and Nicolas have each started the season at 4-0...Aleksandra Cekic, Jessica Gomez and Livia Gherman are all 3-1...each member of the team has at least one victory so far this season.

NCAA Tournament - Last season WSU made its first appearance since the 2002 season at the NCAA Tournament...Louisiana State defeated the Cougars 5-0 to end their run at the tournament...senior Ekaterina Burduli competed in the 2008 NCAA Singles Championship against South Carolina's Gira Schofield, but fell, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 in the opening round.

Last Season - The Cougars finished the season ranked 43rd nationally with a record of 16-9...the 16 wins were the most wins in a season during Harts tenure...eight of the nine losses were to ranked teams...Ekaterina Burduli set the all-time mark for wins in a season with 28 and finished her career with an all-time best 90 victories.

Coach Hart - Washington State's Lisa Hart heads into her sixth season as head coach...her overall record as a Cougar is 58-61... last season Hart led the team to 16-9 record and guided the team to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2002.
