Women's Tennis Continues Play At Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

STANFORD, Calif.- Senior Jessica Nguyen and sophomore Hilary Barte will make their singles debuts on Thursday afternoon at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
The All-Americans were awarded spots in the main singles draw, which gets underway Thursday morning. Nguyen faces Georgia Tech's Amanda McDowell while Barte battles Duke's Reka Zsilinszka.
Junior Lindsay Burdette will join Barte in the doubles main draw on Thursday as well, representing the Cardinal's lone doubles team. They will go up against Duke's Melissa Mang and Amanda Granson.
Burdette went 1-1 in qualifying singles competition, defeating Florida State's Lauren Macfarlane 7-6 (6), 2-6, 6-0 before falling to Arizona's Danielle Steinberg 3-6, 6-4, 4-3, retired.
Nguyen teamed with freshman Logan Hansen to pick up a win in the first round of the doubles qualifying consolation bracket, only to suffer a 9-8 defeat in the next match.
