Barte Advances To Quarters At Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

STANFORD, Calif.- Sophomore Hilary Barte outlasted Duke's Reka Zsilinszka 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 in the opening round of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Barte moves on to face Northwestern's Georgia Rose in today's quarterfinals.

Stanford's second main draw entrant, senior Jessica Nguyen, dropped a 6-3, 6-1 decision to Duke's Amanda McDowell in the first round. She now finds herself in the consolation bracket, and will battle Marshall's Kellie Schmitt.

In doubles, Barte and junior Lindsay Burdette were defeated 8-2 by Duke's Amanda Granson and Melissa Mang in the opening round of the main draw. Barte and Burdette will next play UCLA's Ashley Joelson and Yasmin Schnack in a consolation match.
