The No. 25 Arizona volleyball team (12-3, 2-1) fell to No. 12 Colorado State (13-1) in four sets, 3-1, Saturday night in Fort Collins, Colo.

The Wildcats played the Rams tough in every set, but could only muster a win in the second, 25-20, 29-31, 25-22 and 25-19.

Sophomore Tiffany Owens led the team with 14 kills and senior Brooke Buringrud added 12 more, but as a team, the Wildcats hit .147 in the loss.

Sophomore Paige Weber continues to shine for Arizona. The setter ended Saturday’s match with 47 assists, 11 digs and three block assists.

The win for the Rams was their 23rd straight home win and 13th win of the year.

Jaime Strauss and Jacque Davisson each had 14 kills to pace Colorado State to a .239 hitting percentage.

As has been the case in Arizona’s three losses this season, the Wildcats hurt themselves with 26 attack errors and eight service errors.

Arizona heads on the road for a second straight weekend, when it heads to the Bay Area to take on No. 6 Stanford and No. 8 California. Those matches will be the third and fourth time, Arizona has played a ranked team in 2008.
