Masschelein had beaten University of San Diego's Samantha Mouly 6-0 7-5 in the first round and San Diego State's Holly Bagshaw 6-1 6-1 in the semis to make it to the finals Sunday.

'This is a very significant win for Ariane. We always knew she could play at that level but it took awhile for her to break through.' Head coach Vicky Maes said, 'Now, all the hard practice and dedication is paying off and that's really great to see. Her confidence is soaring after several strong matches in her previous tournaments and she will continue to build on this. She certainly deserves the successes.'

On her way through the bracket, Landsman won 6-1 6-1 against USD's Alexandra Demidova and 2-6 6-2 6-3 against Michigan's Tania Mahtami.

'Sarah is one of nation's top recruits. I wanted her at Arizona because she was such a fierce competitor in the juniors.' Maes said, 'She has brought this same attitude to practice and competition and the results are showing. Sarah has the heart and the desire it takes to be a top collegiate player.'

'Overall, I'm very happy with the team's performance. We lost very few singles matches here and that's a great statement as a team. Danielle struggled a little due to some leftover fatigue from the All-American tourney, but I am confident that she will be ready to go for the next event,' Said Maes, 'For the most part, everyone is improving and things are moving along very nicely. Ryan and I are extremely encouraged by the positive attitude and the competitive spirit.'
