Stockton, Calif. - The Stanford men's swim team put on a dominating performance at the Pacific Invitational on Saturday. The Cardinal won the meet with 1006.5 points to easily defeat second-place California who had 635 points.

The early season meet was the first chance to see the type of team Stanford has in 2008-09 and it looks like head coach, Skip Kenney has another team capable of a Pac-10 Championship and a high finish at the NCAA's.

Stanford was led by veterans Jason Dunford and Eugene Godsoe. Both had a pair of individual event wins as well as a hand in a relay victory.

Godsoe won individual events in the 100 back with at time of 49.18 seconds and the 200 back with a time of 1:50.84. He also swan the anchor leg (1:43.90) for the 800 yard free relay that finished first with a time of 6:52.10. Joining Godsoe on the relay were Andrew Trepp (1:44.08), David Mosko (1:42.80), and Phillip Morrison (1:41.32).

Mosko also claimed an individual event win in the 500 free. Mosko finished with a time of 4:34.96 as Stanford swept the top eight places in the event.

The other Stanford veteran with an event win was Nate Cass who took the 200 breast. Cass finished with a time of 2:05.14 to just out-touch teammate, Paul Kornfeld, the defending NCAA Champion in the event.

The final event winner for the Cardinal was freshman Bobby Bollier who won the 200 fly with a time of 1:50.03.

Stanford will next compete on Halloween Day, Friday Oct. 31 at 2 p.m. The Cardinal will welcome the University of Washington to the Avery Aquatic Center in Pac-10 dual meet action.
