Women's Golf Tied For Fourth At Stanford Intercolletiate

    Stanford, Calif. - It was another day of great golf at the Stanford Intercollegiate on Saturday. The Cardinal fired a second-round score of 8-over-par 292 to drop one spot into a tie for fourth. Stanford now stands with a two-round score of 3-over-par 571.

    UCLA continues to lead after shooting a 1-over-par 285 on Saturday to sit at 6-under par. USC trails the Bruins by three shots in second place. Oklahoma State sits in third with a score of 1-under-par and Arizona is tied with Stanford in fourth.

    The Stanford Intercollegiate is a showcase of some of the top teams in the nation and the scoring over the first two rounds has certainly shown it.

    On Saturday it was Mari Chun with a round of even-par 71 that led Stanford. Chun is now 1-under-par for the tournament and tied with teammate Angela King for ninth place.

    King shot a round of 1-over-par 72 on Saturday after an opening round 69.

    Also playing well is Rebecca Durham who now sits in a tie for 14th at even-par. Durham had a round of 1-over-par 72 on Saturday.

    Freshmen Sydney Burlison and Lila Barton shot a matching pair of second-round 6-over-par 77's. Burlison now sits in a tie for 46th at 5-over, while Barton is 71st at 11-over.

    Playing as individuals for the second straight day were Ki-Shui Liao and Piper Miller. Liao shot a 9-over-par 80 for the second straight day and is tied for 84th at 18-over-par. Miller shot a 12-over-par 83 and is in 88th at 19-over.

    The Cardinal made a total of 13 birdies on the day as they have continued their hot play after winning the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational on Oct. 6-8.

    Caroline Masson of Oklahoma State continues to hold the overall lead. She fired a round of 1-under-par 70 for a two-day total of 7-under-par 135. She leads Ryann O'Toole of UCLA by three strokes.

    The Cardinal will return to the Stanford Golf Course Sunday morning, Oct. 19 at 7:30 am for the final round of the Stanford Intercollegiate. The Cardinal will look to move up the standings as they continue to battle some of the top teams in the nation for the tournament title.
