California's Carli Lloyd Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- CALIFORNIA setter Carli Lloyd has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 13 - 19, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Lloyd directed the Golden Bear offense to a thrilling 3-1 victory over No. 4 Stanford, Cal's first win at Stanford since 1979. Leading all players with 55 assists (13.75 aps), she set the pace for the Bears to hit .260 against a Stanford team that leads the Conference is opponent hitting percentage at .141.
The Bonsall, Calif., native posted her fourth double-double of the year as she totaled 12 digs in the match, tied for second most on the team. The sophomore also had three blocks, one of them solo. She entered the match ranked third in the nation averaging 11.94 assists per set. At 17-1, the Bears are off to their best start in school history. In addition, Cal's 7-0 start in Pac-10 play ties the school record set in 2002.
This is Lloyd's second weekly honor and the 24th all-time for the Golden Bears.
