Women's tennis travels to San Diego for ITA Regionals

The Arizona women's tennis team will travel to San Diego, Calif. on Thursday for the ITA West Regionals hosted by the University of San Diego and San Diego State. The Wildcats will be competing against players from fifteen other schools from around the west coast.
In the first round of singles play, freshman Sarah Landsman will start off against Long Beach State's Stephanie Jeanes. Fellow freshman Deborah Castany will play against San Diego State's Emma Cioffi. Sophomore Jane Huh will be up against San Diego State's Olivia Colman.
Junior Ariane Masschele has a first round bye, and will play against the winner of the match between Loyola Marymount University's Jane Pringle and UC Irvine's Clare Fermin.
Senior Danielle Steinberg, also with a first round bye will play against the winner of the match between Marymount's Tina Razloznik and UC Santa Barbara's Ratchaya Chaichanachaicharn.
In doubles, Huh and Steinberg will be going up against Pepperdine's Marigrace Marshall and Danielle Thomasima, and after a first round bye, Landsman and Masschelein will play the winner of the match between Hawaii's Anja-Vanessa Peter and Natasha Zorec and Marymount's Jasmine Heckel and Tina Razloznik.
'This tournament will give everyone exposure to teams and players we will be competing against in the spring,' said head coach Vicky Maes.
'It's a good opportunity to measure ourselves. We have made a lot of progress this fall and done well in our first few tournaments, and this will be another good test.'
