Oct. 24, 2008

EUGENE, Ore. - Carly Dobratz capped a two-goal night with the game-winning goal in the second overtime to lift No. 21 Washington State to a 2-1 victory over Oregon, Friday in Pacific-10 women's soccer.

The game-winner came at 101:33 after the junior took a pass from freshman Tiara Pittman on the near post side and fired a shot inside the far post. It was the third game-winner of the season for Dobratz, tying her for seventh on the Washington State (8-4-4, 2-2-1 Pac-10) season list. It was also the sixth game-winner of her career, tied for third all-time at WSU. The victory improved to 3-0-3 all-time at Oregon.

'For long periods tonight Oregon was a better team,' Cougar Head Coach Matt Potter said. 'I am proud of the way we battled throughout the match. To give up a late goal and show the character to come back and win says a lot about the heart of our team.'

Washington State was 1:47 away from a 1-0 victory when Kirstie Kuhn scored on a header for Oregon (7-6-2, 0-3-1 Pac-10) to force overtime.

The Cougars took a 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by Dobratz at 25:10. Her shot was slightly deflected by a Duck defender and slid inside the near post. The four points for Dobratz raised her career total to 34, good for 10th on the Cougar career list.

Washington State goalkeeper Lindsay Parlee made six saves to raise her career total to 76 and move into 10th on the Cougar all-time list.

The Cougars play at Oregon State, Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
