Bruins Tie for Ninth at Isleworth

The UCLA men's golf team tied for ninth place Tuesday at the Isleworth Collegiate, which was hosted by the University of Central Florida.
The Bruins posted a team score of 302 (+14) in the final round and finished with a 54-hole total of 902 (+38). They trailed first place Georgia by 35 shots. Alabama placed second at 884 (+20), followed by Indiana at 886 (+22). Texas Tech was fourth at 888 (+24) and USC was fifth at 894 (+30).
Individually, sophomore Philip Francis and freshman Gregor Main tied for 16th place at 221 (+5). In the final round Francis carded a 76 (+4) and Main posted a 78 (+6). Freshman Alex Kim posted a 76 (+4) on Tuesday and tied for 47th at 229 (+13). Senior Erik Flores carded an even par 72 and tied for 54th at 231 (+15). Sophomore Connor Driscoll finished 90th at 257 (+41), following a final round 84 (+12).
Georgia's Russell Henley won the event with a three-round total of 212 (-4).
The Bruins return to action on Nov. 3, hosting the annual CordeValle Collegiate in San Martin. Several of the nation's top teams, including USC, Stanford and Arkansas will be competing, along with the Bruins, who are the defending champions.
