No. 7 Cal Gets Shut Out by San Diego State, 1-0

SAN DIEGO - In its final road game of the regular season, the No. 7 California men's soccer team was shut out by San Diego State, 1-0, Sunday afternoon in San Diego, Calif. The Golden Bears finished the weekend without a win or a goal. Cal returns to Berkeley with a record of 7-3-5, 2-2-3.

SDSU's Jamel Wallace put the only score on the board in the 23rd minute. Cal goalkeeper Stefan Frei made six saves on the day, despite allowing the one goal.

Sophomore Andrew Wiedeman had a team-best five shots, while fellow sophomore Demitrius Omphroy recorded two shots on goal.

Cal outshot the Aztecs, 20-11, with 13 of them coming in the second half.

Cal returns home for the final three matches of the regular season. The Bears return to action on Friday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. against Oregon State at Edwards Stadium.
