Warshaw Named to TopDrawer.com's Team of the Year
Nov. 21, 2008
STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford sophomore Bobby Warshaw was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Team of the Season. Warshaw earned third-team honors.
Warshaw, from Mechanicsburg, Pa., started all 18 matches for the Cardinal, scoring three goals and had two assists. He played mostly forward, but also in the midfield, and even in the central defense after a series of injuries during the latter part of the season left the backline vulnerable.
His eight points allowed him to finish as the team's top scorer for the second consecutive season.
A first-team All-Pacific-10 Conference selection, Warshaw was one of five Pac-10 players recognized among Top Drawer's three teams. He also was one of five sophomores among the 36 players honored.
Warshaw, the Pac-10's 2007 Freshman of the Year, is an outstanding passer with a strong shot and a tireless work ethic. He was a Parade Magazine high school All-American and a member of the under-17 and under-18 national teams.
'Bobby's a highly motivated player who continues to push his game to new heights,' Stanford coach Bret Simon said.
