Alex Morgan To Compete in U.S. World Cup Final With U.S. Under-20 National Team

CHILLAN, Chile - Cal women's soccer sophomore forward Alex Morgan and the U.S. Under-20 National Team will face off against Korea DPR for the title of the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup on Sunday, Dec. 7, at Estadio Municipal in Santiago, Chile. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. local time (4:30 p.m. ET) live on ESPN2, ESPN360.com and Galavision. Fans can also follow the match on ussoccer.com's MatchTracker. Morgan has scored three goals in Chile over the course of the tournament, which began Nov. 19 for the Americans.
Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the U.S. Under-20 National Team's 3-0 victory over France on Nov. 19 at Estadio Nelson Oryuzan in Chillan, Chile. She scored two goals in the U.S. Women's Under-20 National Team 3-0 victory over Argentina on Nov. 22. The game was the Americans' second of Group B at the FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup in Chile.
Morgan, who has been actively training with the team since April, had already contributed six goals in games with the U-20 squad prior to traveling to Chile. The Diamond Bar, Calif., product had a team-high nine goals for the Golden Bears in 2008, including one in the 2-0 win over Arizona on Oct. 26. She also tallied five assists and led Cal with 23 points.
