Brandon Hughes Invited to East-West Shrine Game

Oregon State University senior cornerback Brandon Hughes has been selected to play in the 84th annual East-West Shrine Game Sat., Jan. 17 at Robertson Stadium on the campus of the University of Houston.  The game will be televised by ESPN2.


Hughes, a 5-11 cornerback from Bloomington, Ill., is the first Beaver to officially be invited to a postseason all-star game.  The two-time Pac-10 Conference Second Team selection accounted for 34 tackles, 11 pass breakups and one interception this season.  Hughes enters his final game at Oregon State with 177 career tackles, 27 pass breakups and three interceptions.


Hughes and his teammates suit up for the final time in 2008 when No. 24 Oregon State plays No. 18 Pittsburgh Dec. 31 at the 75th annual Brut Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas.  The game begins at approximately 11:15 a.m. PST and will be televised by CBS Sports.
