Friday Practice Report: Francis to Make Sun Bowl Appearance

Dec. 19, 2008

Oregon State tailback Jeremy Francis will re-join the team next week in El Paso, Texas in time for the Brut Sun Bowl head coach Mike Riley announced Friday.

Francis, a junior from Winter Park, Fla., left the team indefinitely last week following finals to attend to family matters at home. He is scheduled to arrive in El Paso on the 26th, the same day as the Beavers' first practice in the Lone Star State.

'This is a good thing for the Beavers,' Riley said. 'The decision to take care of his family is the right decision for Jeremy and we all support that. And his decision to come back for the bowl game is an indication of the high regard he has for his teammates.'

Riley went on to indicate that Francis' decision to return for the bowl game does not necessarily indicate a long term return to the team.

'He still has a lot of issues he is taking care of. I hope that Jeremy is eventually able to return to the team on a permanent basis.'
