Kevin Rhoderick Named To Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America Team

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State sophomore right-hander Kevin Rhoderick has been named to the Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America Third Team, Collegiate Baseball newspaper announced.

Rhoderick went 0-1 with 12 saves as a freshman, posting a 2.39 earned run average while appearing in more than 26 innings. Opponents managed just 11 hits against him as opponents finished with a .131 batting average. He had 32 strikeouts in his first season in Corvallis.

At the conclusion of the 2008 season, Rhoderick was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Freshman All-America First Team and the Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America Team. Rhoderick was also honored by being named to the Baseball America Freshman All-America Second Team while being a All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention.

Rhoderick and the Beavers open the 2009 season on Feb. 20 when starting a three-game series at Tennessee.
