Swimming Heads to Arizona

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State women's swim team will begin the new year by traveling south to take on Pacific-10 Conference teams Arizona Friday, Jan. 2, at 2 p.m., followed by Arizona State Saturday, Jan. 3 at 12 p.m.

The Beavers have already qualified two swimmers, Saori Haruguchi and Kayla Rawlings, for the NCAA Championships in the 200 butterfly, with several swimmers also qualifying with B standard times.

Anna Crandall continues to improve in the water by setting new personal records and climbing up the Oregon State all-times list where she is tied for third in the 50 freestyle, is in the third position in the 100 freestyle and improved her time in the 200 freestyle where she holds the second best time.

Jenni Dole, as a freshman, has already moved up the Oregon State all-times list by holding the second best time in both the 100 backstroke and the 200 backstroke. Anna Heller has also made an impression in the backstroke events by holding the fifth position on the list in the 100 backstroke, and holds the fourth spot in the 200 backstroke.

Oregon State has tallied 15 dual wins this season by seven different swimmers.

Oregon State jumps back in the pool Friday, Jan. 9, when the Beavers host Pacific-10 Conference rival Washington beginning at 5 p.m. at Stevens Natatorium on the Oregon State campus.
