Swimming Falls in Arizona

TEMPE, Ariz. - Jenni Dole, Signe Larson, Anna Crandall and Brittney Iverson set a new season record in the 200 medley relay with a third place finish overall with a time of 1:43.22 to begin the afternoon for the Oregon State women's swim team. The Beavers fell to Arizona State by a score of 197-91.

'It was a very good meet for us today against Arizona State,' head coach Larry Liebowitz said. 'Kayla, Brittney and Anna Crandall all swam very well today.'

Kayla Rawlings received her third dual win of the season in the 200 butterfly, 12th of her career, when she won the event with a time of 2:02.39. Iverson finished the event in third with a time of 2:04.20, while Rachael Wahl finished in fifth in 2:06.58.

Rawlings completed the afternoon with a second place finish during the 100 butterfly, 56.34, and in the 1,000 freestyle, 10:21.77, putting her ninth on the Oregon State all-times list in the 1,000 freestyle. Iverson finished the afternoon with a third place finish in the 200 individual medley, 2:05.38.

Agata Szewczuk set a new personal record in the 200 breaststroke when she finished the event in fifth place with a time of 2:23.31.

'Agata has had a really good meet these last two days,' Liebowitz said. 'She really stepped up this weekend.'

Kate Hagan continued to improve in the 500 freestyle with a third place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:02.92.

Oregon State rounded out the afternoon with a third place finish in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:30.89. The group consisted of Dole, Crandall, Szewczuk and Rawlings.

The Beavers take to the pool again when they host Washington Friday, Jan. 9, at Stevens Natatorium on the Oregon State campus with the competition beginning at 5 p.m.
