NATION'S BIGGEST TURNAROUNDS
With two more victories already in 2008-09 than in all of last season, the Cougars rank tied for sixth nationally amongst teams making the greatest turnarounds this season.
FROSH ONE-TWO PUNCH
Cougar freshmen Jazmine Perkins and April Cook each currently rank in the top 10 in scoring average in the Pacific-10 Conference, the highest-scoring freshmen in the league and the only freshmen ranked in the top 10. Perkins' 14.7 points per game currently ranks tied for fourth on the list, while Cook's 14.2 ppg ranks sixth.
The Cougars are looking to halt a seven-game losing streak to the Golden Bears. WSU's last victory came Jan. 27, 2005 - a 79-69 win in Pullman. The Cougars' last win in Berkeley came Jan. 29, 2004 (64-59).
WSU's seven nonconference wins in 2008 were the most by a Cougar squad since recording nine wins in nonconference during the 1995-96 season.
