It's Never Too Early -- Spring Football Practice Dates Announced

Jan. 14, 2009

Corvallis, Ore. -

Who is going to replace Slade Norris and Victor Butler at the defensive end positions?  Can the youthful but athletic underclassmen take over the starting duties in the secondary? Who will be Shane Morales’ and Sammie Stroughter’s replacements? Are the Rodgers brothers healthy?

Those questions and many more will begin to be answered when the Oregon State football team returns to the practice field for the annual 15-day spring session beginning Mon., March 30.  The practice period culminates with the annual Spring Game Sat., May 2 at Reser Stadium.

The Beavers’ quest for a fourth consecutive bowl appearance is tentatively set for Sat., Sept. 5 at Reser Stadium against the Portland State Vikings.  Information on season tickets will be announced in the near future for a home schedule that also includes 2009 Orange Bowl participant Cincinnati, 2008 Las Vegas Bowl champion Arizona, Stanford, UCLA and Washington.

Don’t forget to make plans for the biggest event of the winter social calendar for OSU Athletics – the annual Recruiting Dinner Wed., Feb. 4 at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower.
