Stanford Competing For Singles, Doubles Championships At Sherwood Cup

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - The No. 12 Stanford Cardinal will be competing for both the singles and doubles titles in the Sherwood Cup on Monday, January 19.

No. 33 sophomore Alex Clayton defeated USC's Jaak Poldma, 6-3, 6-1, in the singles semifinals today and will face the Trojans' seventh-ranked Robert Farah in the final at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow.

The pair of Richard Wire and Blake Muller was also successful in its semifinal, as they took down USC's Abdullah Magdas and Daniel Nguyen, 9-8. Wire and Muller will face Farah and his partner Steve Johnson, the nation's second-ranked duo, in the final at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow.
