Hueky Men's Hoops Enters Coaches' Top 25

SEATTLE - After winning 14 of its last 16 games and earning a split in its recent trip to Arizona, the University of Washington men's basketball team entered the USA Today/ESPN coaches' top 25 poll this week.
The Huskies, 25th in the coaches poll, moved up to 22nd in the Associated Press rankings after defeating then 14th-ranked Arizona State 84-71 last weekend in Tempe. The Sun Devils dropped to 24th by the AP. UCLA is the only other Pac-10 team in the rankings, earning a No. 12 ranking by the coaches and No. 15 position by the AP.

Washington is 16-5 on the season, 7-2 in the Pac-10 and tied with UCLA on top of the league standings. The two teams are a game ahead of third-place USC and two games up on Arizona State and California.
The UW travels to the Bay Area this week for a Thursday night contest at California and a Sunday afternoon game at Stanford. The game in Berkeley will be televised by FSN Northwest at 7:30 p.m., while the game in Palo Alto is scheduled for a 2:30 tipoff and will be televised by FSN HD as part of the league television package.
Washington returns home to face its Oregon rivals the following week. The UW will host resurgent Oregon State on Thursday, Feb. 12 then will welcome the Oregon Ducks to Bank of America Arena on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14. Tickets are on sale by calling (206) 543-2200 or by clicking here.
