Former Sun Devil Velasquez Set to Appear on Spike's UFC Fight Night

TEMPE - Former Arizona State University wrestler Cain Velasquez, one of the up-and-coming heavyweights in the world of mixed martial arts, will be fighting live on national television this weekend as he faces Denis `The Menace' Stojnic in UFC Fight Night on Saturday night inside the Sun Dome in Tampa, Fla. Spike TV will be broadcasting much of the fight card live starting at 9 p.m. ET (10 p.m. in Arizona).
Velasquez, a two-time Pac-10 Champion and a two-time All-American at heavyweight for the Sun Devils, carries a 4-0 professional record into the fight and is 2-0 in his UFC career with both ending by technical knockout in the first round. His last fight came on July 19 with Velasquez winning by TKO at 2:20 in the first round over Jake O'Brien. Velasquez won his UFC debut on April 19 with a first round TKO (2:10) over Brad Morris.
Stojnic, from the Netherlands, is a career 12-1-0 fighter and holds a black belt in Sambo. This will be his first fight in the UFC.
