SEATTLE (AP) - Conference scoring leader Ashley Walker scored seven of her 24 points in the first five minutes of the second half and No. 3 California recovered from a sluggish first 20 minutes to top Washington 70-40 Friday night.

The Bears (19-3, 10-0 Pac-10) continued to improve on the best conference start in school history thanks to Walker's dominant play inside. Leading the conference with a 20.5-point average, Walker scored 11 of Cal's first 20 in the second half, turning a nine-point halftime lead into a comfortable 20-point cushion in just seven minutes.

California won its 11th straight overall and outscored Washington 43-22 in the second half.

Washington was led by 12 points from Christina Rozier.

Devanei Hampton had 15 points, Alexis Gray-Lawson added 14 and Natasha Vital scored 10 for California.

For one half, Washington fared better than its first matchup against the Bears last month in Berkeley, when California stymied the Huskies in a 62-34 win.

Washington's top three scorers - Sami Whitcomb (12.5 points), Kristi Kingma (9.8) and Laura McLellan (9.3) - combined to make just 5 of 25 shots and scored 12 points.
