The UCLA baseball program dedicated its new Jack and Rhodine Gifford Hitting Facility on Saturday, Feb. 7. While the day's Alumni Game was canceled due to rain, the baseball program welcomed back over 100 former ballplayers for the facility dedication and lunch.
Featured speakers included head coach John Savage, former head coach Gary Adams, athletic director Dan Guerrero, current UCLA outfielder Dustin Quist and Kevin Lynch, son-in-law of the late Jack Gifford.
UCLA's new hitting facility features five hitting cages with retractable netting, room for a spacious tee area and addition space for defensive drills. The state-of-the-art practice complex spans 10,500-square feet and stands 23 feet high. The hitting facility was made possible by the generosity of Jack and Rhodine Gifford.
