No. 40 Cats Beat Dons, 7-0

TUCSON - The No. 40 Arizona men's tennis team defeated San Francisco, 7-0, Saturday afternoon at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.

The Wildcats (6-1) took the doubles point from the Dons (0-6) winning the matches in position #2 and position #3.

The duo of Andres Arango and Andres Carrasco defeated Asaf Cohen and Mitch del Rosario 8-4. Jay Goldman and Ola Bakke defeated Karill and Rainer Nachbauer 8-4.

In singles action, the reigning Pac- 10 Player of the Week, Andres Arango won his match in position #2 by beating Asaf Cohen 6-4, 6-2. Arango's win clinched the match for the Wildcats.

Freshman Jason Zafiros streak of 12 straight sets without losing came to an end when he dropped the first set to Einar Hart. However, Zafiros rebounded well and took the next two sets to win 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Arizona will be in action again when they take on No. 50 San Diego on Friday Feb. 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. The match will be played at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
