Feb. 17, 2009
STANFORD, Calif. - Nicole Ourada earned her second consecutive Pacific-10 Conference Gymnast of the Week honor, for her performance in Stanford's victories over Oregon State and UC Davis on Sunday.
Ourada, a senior from Germantown, Wis., earned an all-around score of 39.5 to edge to two others expected to contend for the conference overall title -- teammate Carly Janiga and Oregon State's Mandi Rodriguez.
One of three to be honored on Stanford's Senior Day, Ourada tied her season-bests of 9.925 on both bars and beam. The beam performance scored a full half-point higher than last week, when Ourada set a conference- and career-high 39.625 in the all-around.
Ourada is a five-time All-American, earning second-team honors in the all-around the past two years.
