The Arizona gymnastics team used a season-high 195.75 to get by in-state rival Arizona State Friday night in McKale.

The No. 19 Gymcats and visiting Sun Devils were tied heading into the meets final event and Arizona prevailed 195.75-195.25 for its third win in the last three meets.

'It's a really good win for us,' Arizona head coach Bill Ryden said. 'It's also a good thing for the fans when you have two teams going at it like that.'

The Wildcats did not stand out in one event, but put together its most complete meet of the season in front of 1,105 fans.

'We're starting to compete really well,' said Ryden. 'We're staying mentally strong and I'm pleased with that.'

Heading into the meets last event, the Wildcats and Sun Devils were tied at 146.825. Arizona responded with a 48.925 on floor to pull out the win. Seniors Bree Workman and Briana Bergeson each posted team-high 9.850 on the floor to pull out the win for Arizona.

The Gymcats got their best team-performance of the night to start the meet on vault where they scored a 49.075, their only event over a 49. Freshman Deanna Graham led the way with a 9.875.

Arizona also got some solid efforts on the bars, where the team had been struggling. They posted a 48.850, behind junior Sarah Tomczyk and freshman Britnie Jones who each posted 9.8's.

On beam, the team's streak of three straight 49+'s came to an end behind their 48.9. Bergeson posted her third 9.9 on beam this season to lead the squad.

Arizona looks to extend its win streak to four matches when it travels to Berkeley to take on California next Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
