Women's Basketball Falls At No. 6 California

BERKELEY, Calif. - Brittney Davis scored 16 points but the Oregon State women's basketball dropped a 62-40 contest to sixth-ranked California Saturday night at Haas Pavilion.
Davis was 7-for-17 from the field, scoring 11 of her 16 points in the first half. The senior guard from Portland has now scored at least 10 points in 10 straight games dating back to Jan. 17 against Washington.
Over the past 10 games, Davis is averaging 17.2 points and is shooting 43.3 percent from the field.
Alex Mitchell had seven points and seven rebounds for the Beavers
Overall, the Beavers shot 32.7 percent from the field compared to 51 percent for California. The Golden Bears reached 38 rebounds, while Oregon State managed just 25.
With the loss, Oregon State dropped to 15-10 overall and 6-9 in Pacific-10 Conference play this season. California, meanwhile, is tied for first in the Pac-10 with a 13-1 conference record and 22-3 overall mark.
Davis scored 11 points in the first half to pace the Beavers, but Oregon State found itself down 20, 35-15, to the Golden Bears entering halftime.
Davis was 5-for-11 from the field in the first half, connecting on a three-pointer. As a team, the Beavers shot just 25 percent in the first half compared to 59.1 percent for California.
Walker ended the game with a team-leading 20 points, while Alexis Gray-Lawson and Devanei Hampton both had 11.
