Huskies 6th After Day 1

WESTLAKE, Calif. -- After two rounds on the first day of play at the USC Collegiate Invitational on Monday, the No 6 Huskies shot a 12-over 280, which has them in sixth place.

The University of Washington's men's golf team was fourth for most of the day, but struggled at the end of round two. Atop the leader board for the Dawgs is Tze Huang Choo, who is playing as an individual, and Darren Wallace. Both Huskies finished the first day tied for ninth place with a 1-under 141.

Junior Richard Lee, who will try to extend his streak of top-10 finishes to seven, is in 23rd place, carding a 2-over 144. Following Lee is freshman Ty Chambers (149) in 44th place, Nick Taylor (151) in 58th place and Chris Killmer (154) in 68th.

Leading the team standings is Stanford, with a two-round score of 560, and UCLA's Gregor Main shot 4-under par for the day to own a one stroke lead in the individual standings.
