Online Auction For Pink Zone Uniform, Shoes Now Open

SEATTLE -- Washington participated in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Pink Zone the past two weeks and now is the chance for fans to own the pink uniform worn by Husky senior Heidi McNeill and the pink shoes of head coach Tia Jackson.

Both items will be auctioned off on starting today through Monday, March. 2. All of the proceeds will benefit the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund. To bid, fans can click here or click on the online store header and go to the auction tab from the front page of

The WBCA began the Pink Zone initiative, formerly known as 'Think Pink' in 2007 to raise breast cancer awareness in women's basketball, on campuses and in communities. In 2007, more than 120 schools unified for this effort and helped made the inaugural year a success. In 2008, over 1,200 teams and organizations participated, reaching over 830,000 fans and raising over $930,000 for breast cancer awareness and research. Washington participated in the initiative the last two years.
