Stanford Baseball Adds Wednesday Home Game vs. Saint Mary's

Feb. 23, 2009

STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford baseball program has announced an addition to its schedule, as the No. 7 Cardinal will host Saint Mary's this Wednesday, February 25 for a 5:00 p.m. PT game at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond. Stanford Athletics will not charge for this game, offering free admittance to fans.

Wednesday's contest will bring Stanford's 2009 regular season schedule back to the 56-game limit. Stanford was originally slated to host UC Riverside yesterday (Sunday, February 22), but that game was rained out and will not be rescheduled.

The Cardinal and Saint Mary's will still play their originally scheduled March 3 game at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond.

Stanford opened its 2009 season by winning two of three games against visiting Vanderbilt. The Cardinal won Friday night's season opener, 6-5 in 10 innings, and split a Saturday doubleheader by rallying for a 6-5 victory in the nightcap.
