Inside the Locker Room: By Heather Purnell

STANFORD, Calif. - This week culminated in a very successful afternoon at Haas Pavilion. We changed the lineups on events a little bit to rest some people and to give others an opportunity to show their routines. Our Wednesday game day went really well. It made us all very excited about our meet against Cal.

The excitement kept building as we began our first event on Sunday afternoon. The bar team did a great job and it was so exciting to see Jenny Peter swing so aggressively. The excitement continued on vault, where another freshman, Alyssa Brown, stuck her vault cold. We also got to see new faces competing on floor and beam, with three more freshmen, Cat, Alyssa, and Nicole (Peach) did a fantastic job. It was so great to see the freshmen rising up to the challenge.

Aside from the shining freshman class, everyone else who contributed did a fantastic job. It is so reassuring to know that the ball will keep rolling when our senior class graduates next year. I am so proud of this team!

Some of the team also went to the men's gymnastics meet in Oakland on Saturday night, where they had an exciting win over Cal. Great gymnastics from both teams this weekend! Thanks for checking in and supporting our team! See you next week!Heather
