Men's Golf Heads Southeast for the Argonaut Invitational

What's Happening This Week: The Washington State University men's golf team travels to Pensacola, Fla., to participate in the Argonaut Invitational hosted at the par-72, 6,815-yard Pensacola Country Club ...the two-day event begins Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start with the final round on Tuesday...the tournament marks the second of the spring season.

The Field: The Cougars are paired with an 11-team field; including host West Florida, Virginia, West Carolina, Army, James Madison, Liberty, Samford, Houston Baptist, Air Force Academy, Vanderbilt and Ohio. The Cougars are the only team representing the Pacific-10 Conference.

Traveling for the Cougars: Five Cougars are making the trek to Florida for the Argonaut Invitational...the Cougar contingent includes juniors Kevin Tucker and Austin Hurt, sophomore Nick Ellis and freshmen Trent Sanders and Paul Mitzel...this will be Paul Mitzel's first collegiate event.

Last Time Out: The Cougar men were led by sophomore Nick Ellis who finished tied for first at the Thunderbird Invite...Ellis carded a two-round score of 141 (-3)...the Cougar contingent shot a two-round score of 291 to move up three positions. The men finished with a final team two-round score of 590 (+14), and in sole possession of second place.
