Robinson & Milligan Lead Swimmers & Divers At Pac-10 Championships

The youth of the Bruin swimming and diving team contributed in a big way on the third day of competition at the Pac-10 Championships in Federal Way, WA as freshman Alyssa Robinson and sophomore Dani Milligan led the team in the pool.
Robinson had a huge day on three-meter as she finished fifth with a new lifetime-best score of 294.55. In the prelims, she had the second-highest point total with what was a then new lifetime-best as well (294.05). Milligan swam a lifetime-best and NCAA consideration time of 4:13.63 in the 400 IM to place 11th overall.
Also in the 400 IM, sophomore Lauren Hall placed 19th in a time of 4:16.93. In the 100 fly, senior Kirsten Byers swam a lifetime-best in both the prelims (54.41) and finals (54.62) as she finished 22nd overall. Freshman Bianca Casciari also swam a lifetime-best in both the prelims (54.69) and finals (54.79) of the 100 fly as she finished 23rd overall. Fellow newcomer Yasi Jahanshahi was 24th in a time of 54.91.
In the 200 free, sophomore Emily Bibb swam a season-best and NCAA 'B' qualifier of 1:47.66 to finish 18th overall. Senior Madeleine Stanton was 13th in the 100 back (54.09), while junior Isabell Fischer swam a lifetime-best and NCAA qualifier of 53.62 to place 17th overall.
Senior Marisa Samaniego, who had captured the one-meter Pac-10 title on Thursday, finished sixth on three-meter with a score of 284.20.
The Bruins stand in sixth-place (445 points), while California (990.5) and Arizona (937.5) are battling it out for first place.
Saturday will mark the final day of competition with the following events being contested - 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, platform diving and 400 free relay.
